My friend Ian Spiro (hardtoremember) and I created a project based loosely around the idea of a Tachistoscope for the Mega Media Showcase after party. Users could enter search terms into a local computer that would then scrape Google images and add them to a cache directory. Images were then displayed at varying frame rates and based on a number of different randomized effects. Web version with gif export is in the works.
Visually Similar Abstract Paintings
A series of abstract paintings I created in 2009 are used as source material in Google’s search by visually similar images function. Results are compiled and juxtaposed with the original.

Staggered frame rate animation created using 48 of Viktor Timofeev’s works on paper from the “Red Black / The Cyclical Nature of the Practice of Architecture” series. Love Viktor’s work!
